Italian Conversation

This group will be run on a self-help basis to learn Italian through conversation based in Ilfracombe.

We meet twice a month to share and support each other in our knowledge and experience of this lovely country, its culture and language. This is a purely conversational group with a wide range of ability, some being more knowledgeable than others.

The group has been together for a year or more and has made noticeable progress in translating Italian in its written form both ways and understanding what’s there. Mind you, we are still scratching the surface. Where we are still very weak is actual conversation. Face to face it’s difficult coming up with the next word. Still, we plug away, and enjoy the meetings.

Our small group practise our Italian by conversing, reading an easy reader book and reviewing our 'homework'. New members would need a level of Italian sufficient to take part in a conversation.
